Remembering Tiananmen
It was 15 years ago, this June, that citizens thru-out Beijing spontaneously poured out, all over the streets demonstrating in support of the idea of more freedom and democracy. For those of us who saw the news footage, we will never never be able to forget, the pictures of troops being sent out, big massive ominous tanks, being sent out all over the streets and running over unarmed helpless citizens. Tiananmen Square is a popular tourist spot, it was also the place where the Chinese government struck at most violently upon.
Some people told us we should look forward, I say we may not forget the crackdown.

Shrek 2 spoiler ahead
The humor in Shrek 2 was sometimes clever and most always lough out loud funny, i.e Pinocchio performing "Mission Impossible" and The "Farbucks" scene got a huge laugh from the audience. I LOVED Puss in Boots when he had the big doe eyes!
I have to say that Shrek 2 is the best movie I've seen in quite a long while.

The Day After Tomorrow, it could really happen.
Apart from the spectacular special effects, was the USA-centric nature of it. The rest of world didn't get much shot. The Vice President in the movie is modeled on Dick Cheney and is explicity blamed for making the situation worse that it had to be because of his unwillingness to take global warming seriously and for his badmouthing the Kyoto Accords. Now that Russia has signed up to Kyoto, I hope the pressure will be on USA to do so, especially as it is the worse offender of major nations regarding greenhouse gas emissions. We ignore warning signs at our peril, as we'll reach the irreversible stage in due course. Even now, it will take decades to undo existing damage. It can be claimed that weather patterns have already altered.
